Looking for a way to make your meals more nutritious and delicious?
Pumpkin seed oil could be the trick. Not only is it packed with essential vitamins and minerals, such as zinc and magnesium, but it also contains high amounts of healthy fats.
Plus, Styrian pumpkin seed oil boasts an array of potential nutritional benefits – from reduced inflammation to improved heart health. By adding this nutrient-rich powerhouse to your recipes, you’ll be getting a lot more vitamins in all your dishes.
From using it in salad dressings to roasting your veggies, here are 6 delicious ways to use pumpkin seed oil.
#1 – Pumpkin Seed Oil Salad Dressing
First, we love to use our premium Styrian pumpkin seed oil to create a light, nutty vinaigrette. Because the seeds have such a depth of flavour, pumpkin seed oil is perfect for anyone who wants to add a layer of complexity to their salads. And the best part?
It’s also vegan, so anyone on a plant-based diet can use this recipe too.
You can find a ton of recipes for salad dressings online, but we love this one for how easy it is to whip up. Simply add all the ingredients to a jar, shake it all up, and drizzle the dressing on your favourite salads!
- Pumpkin Seed Oil (4 tbsp)
- Balsamic (2 tbsp)
- Honey (2 tbsp)
- Dijon Mustard (2 tbsp)
- 1 Clove Minced Garlic
- Salt + Pepper to taste
#2 – Roast Your Veggies with Pumpkin Seed Oil
Another great way to use pumpkin seed oil is with roasted vegetables. Pick out some fresh vegetables, drizzle on some pumpkin seed oil, add your favourite herbs and spices, and then roast them!
Not only it’s an easy recipe, the pumpkin seed oil also adds a unique flavour you won’t get from other types of oils.
#3 – Add it to Any Soup
Another great way to use pumpkin seed oil is in your soups. For example, if you love a butternut squash soup, then you can give the soup more depth by adding pumpkin seed oil. This will create a nutty flavour to really make your soup stand out.
Our Styrian pumpkin seed oil also has a stronger taste because of the high amount of nutrients. So, you’re not just getting a deeper, richer taste—you’re getting more nutrition in every spoonful.
#4 – Make Pumpkin Seed Oil Hummus
Another way to use pumpkin seed oil is in your dips. For example, if you love hummus, then why not make it even healthier with pumpkin seeds? For this, we recommend getting a food processor, so your pumpkin seed hummus is smooth and creamy.
Simply add all the ingredients to a food processor and blend until smooth.
- Chickpeas (1 can)
- Raw Pumpkin Seeds (¼ cup)
- Fresh Lemon Juice (2 tbsp)
- Pumpkin Seed Oil (¼ cup)
- Water (¼ cup)
- Salt to Taste
#5 – Try Pumpkin Seed Butter
And last but not least, have you tried pumpkin seed butter? Also called “Green Peanut Butter,” it’s incredibly hard to find unless you go to a specialty food store. Luckily, it’s easy enough to make it yourself!
For this, you can buy organic raw pumpkin seeds. Then just blend them in a food processor until it’s smooth, which usually takes about 15 minutes.
And if you want it to be runnier, simply add pumpkin seed oil to get the perfect consistency. That way, it’s much easier to spread on toast, crackers, or anything else.
