Founder’s sharing - 2
In the intricate tapestry of wellness, where every thread plays a crucial role, I've come to realize that maintaining a vegetarian lifestyle goes beyond just dietary choices. In this installment of Founder's Sharing, let's delve into the often-overlooked realm of spinal health and the transformative impact it can have on our overall well-being. Beyond the realms of nutritious meals, regular exercise, and restful sleep, ensuring the wellness of our spine emerges as a vital component of a holistic approach to health. I've personally experienced the profound effects of incorporating practices like yoga, meditation, stretches, swimming, and pilates into my routine. These not only contribute to physical fitness but also play a pivotal role in maintaining spinal health. Admittedly, there was a time when I grappled with daily episodes of Brain Fog, typically descending by late afternoon. Initially attributing it to inadequate sleep, I was surprised to discover that the symptoms persisted even after ensuring sufficient rest. Intrigued, I delved into research and stumbled upon an interesting connection between indigestion, gut bacteria, and Brain Fogginess.
During my quest for understanding, I encountered the concept of chiropractic—an unfamiliar term that would soon prove to be a game-changer. Consulting with various chiropractors and immersing myself in research, I unraveled the significance of maintaining proper posture and the potential harm caused by subluxation, the misalignment of vertebrae.
What struck me as alarming was the silent progression of subluxation—a process that may span a decade or even two without manifesting any pain. By the time discomfort sets in, irreversible damage may already have occurred. To counteract this, cultivating a daily habit of engaging in the aforementioned exercises becomes imperative, rectifying any misalignments accumulated throughout the day.
In a world where many of us spend prolonged hours hunched over computers or fixated on mobile phones, our spines endure a considerable amount of stress. Imagine holding a bowling ball in a vertical position—manageable at first, but a slight tilt forward magnifies the weight exponentially. This mirrors the pressure our spines endure during prolonged periods of heads-down work.
To counteract this, it's crucial to reverse the stress induced by improper posture. A quick self-assessment, guided by my chiropractor's advice, involves ensuring that your earlobe aligns vertically with the shoulder joint while standing. Any misalignment can be addressed through stretches, yoga poses, or exercises tailored to your unique needs. Recognizing that our bodies, though seemingly similar, are uniquely nuanced, I emphasize the importance of personalizing your approach to wellness. Medical assistance serves as a guide, but it's essential to listen to your body's signals and embark on a journey of understanding. Results, I believe, align with our efforts, requiring time, persistence, and a commitment to doing our best in the pursuit of health and happiness.
